Gate of Ludd (Bab Ludd)

Bab Ludd or Lod Gate is marked with a small Mamluk/Ottoman era structure marking the site of a water-well. It is a town close close to Al Quds (Baitul Maqdis), thus it would not be the gate near or in Aqsa compound. Sahih Muslim, Hadith No 2937: ".. He (Isa son of Maryam) would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him..." An-Nawawi said: The Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned the gate of Ludd. Ludd (Lod) is a town close to Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem).
